Harmony in Halkidiki
What comes to your mind if I ask you think about summer…?
And what if, instead, I more specifically ask you to think about summer in Greece?
I know, islands are usually the hottest destinations, and Greece has many, many islands divided into distinct island clusters according to their geographical location. In the Aegean there are the ever popular Cyclades; the Argo Saronic are close to Athens. Then, there’s the Dodecanese in the southeastern region of the Aegean; the Sporades, above the Cyclades towards the east. And, of course, the amazing Ionian islands, also known as Eptanese, on the west coast of Greece.
The total number of inhabited islands lies somewhere between 170 and 225, so travelers wanting to experience something different each time have ample choice. This is why the Greek islands attract millions of visitors each year: it’s a given fact each island boasts its own incredible natural beauty, but not only! There are islands offering experiences for every preference. So where do you even start with identifying your next Greek summer destination?
Discovering Thermal Harmony for Adults & Kids… in Halkidiki!
Here is a clever alternative – trade the islands for a destination that has all the island bonuses and is still off the beaten path: Halkidiki. This year I want to show you a few alternative solutions for your summer in Greece, and I’m starting with Halkidiki.
This marvelous destination in the north of Greece, it quite popular with the locals due to its resemblance with some of the best islands. Halkidiki is part of mainland Greece but with one, or actually, three peculiarities that make it so irresistible. It has three legs or peninsulas which create an even longer coastal line for visitors to enjoy. The peninsulas are Kassandra, Sithonia, and Agion Oros.
Two interesting facts about them: Kassandra is the most sought after peninsula due to a natural, thermal advantage. Agion Oros is considered a sacred place throughout Greece, home to Mount Athos and its monasteries. (I’ve talked a little about Mount Athos and Kolomboi over here)
Kassandra’s natural thermal advantage is now available for visitors to indulge in, being the home to a new, luxurious spa resort, Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort.
Promising 5 star experiences, the place is truly magnificent, while the resort landscaping complements the natural incline towards one of the most pristine beaches you have ever seen.
Think luxe and spacious elegance, a yacht marina, private pools, spa pampering and beauty treatments. More? Healthy food and beverage options, a multitude of sports and fitness activities – both on land and in the sea. Even more? Sailing tours, wine tasting, and fine dining.
Romantic moments and family bonding time… in short, a place easily defined as a haven of wellness. The Miraggio generously offers its guests a chance to achieve balance, harmony and well-being.
Children’s logistics in Halkidiki
And since family travel is one of my chosen necessities, let’s talk children logistics. With a whole Kids Planet dedicated to them, kids have a paradise to play, learn, love and discover. Top-notch facilities, including a Splash park, promise endless moments of thrill and laughter. What’s more, UK childcare specialists, Worldwide Kids Company, group kids in clubs according to age, exposing them to a multitude of guided and educational activities. The choice is enticing, from sports to crafts, as well as a plethora of first time experiences for your kids!
It’s important to make children live new experience. This broadens their horizons and builds their self-confidence. The activities the Miraggio offers kids are here to help.
Choose what best suits your style: from cooking classes, to movie nights and kids parties with mocktails & face painting, to olive tree planting, water sports fun, and pool scuba shows, there is always something very exciting going on for kids. This way adults and children can enjoy a fulfilling vacation. And now that our kids are growing, there is a perfect mix of family and separate time, for a 5 star treatment in the most beautiful place of Northern Greece.
